Vodacom Launches Phase II of Horticulture Project

Thus, it was handed over a batch of seeds that will be used for the agricultural season 2010/2011. They are in total 1136 kg of lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, onions, cabbage, green beans, cabbage and potatoes seeds.

This donation benefited directly about 400 farmers families grouped in nine associations and indirectly around 2,000 families who may acquire production in local markets.

The continuity of this project for one more year aims to help the farmers from Vilanculos to consolidate the production levels achieved in the last agricultural season and also make them move from subsistence agriculture to a farming income in order to make this activity self-sustainable.

This action is part of Vodacom Social Responsibility Policy which aims to make a difference in the lives of people who benefit from these projects.
